How to use this guide
Most of IGTAP's 29 achievements unlock through normal play: unlock abilities, buy atoms, finish courses, die a lot. A handful, however, need deliberate effort, and the rarest ones are tied to hidden content the game never explains. This guide covers those tricky unlocks with methods reported by the community and inferred from official achievement descriptions.
One honesty note up front: IGTAP has no official achievement guide, and the game has evolved from a web demo into the Steam release. Where a method comes from player videos or posts rather than the game itself, this page labels it community-reported. The full name-and-rate table lives on the achievements list page.

The death achievements: 100 and 500
You Died… alot (die 100 times, 80.8%) needs no guide — a precision platformer full of spikes, thorn vines, and giant fans hands out deaths freely, and most players pass 100 during the main run. Why are we still here, just to suffer? (die 500 times, 19.6%) is the one that occasionally needs help.
The community-reported approach is simple: stop avoiding hazards. Repeatedly running a course you are optimizing for time will naturally stack deaths, and players chasing 100% usually cross 500 before they finish everything else. If you are deliberately farming it, any spike-dense course works — dash into a spike field and repeat. Deaths are counted cumulatively across a save, so there is nothing to lose except course time.

Igtap want boing boing: ten springs, no ground
Igtap want boing boing (10.1%) asks you to bounce on 10 springs without touching the ground. Springs are a verified course mechanic, and the achievement's wording implies a chain: each bounce must lead directly to the next spring, with no landing on ordinary floor in between.
Community-reported method: find a course section with clustered springs, then keep the chain alive with air control. Your movement toolkit matters — the double jump (Jump, but again.) and dash (Spintap) let you correct trajectory mid-air between bounces, and the omni-dash (All angle igtap, 28.5%) makes diagonal recovery far easier. Players who attempt this after unlocking late abilities report a much larger margin for error than early-game attempts.
If a chain breaks, the counter resets, so commit only when the full spring sequence is in view. This is an execution achievement, not a grind — expect it to take practice rather than playtime.

Reverse Current: every course, backwards
Reverse Current (1.7%) is earned by completing every course in reverse order. It is the second-rarest non-hidden achievement in the game, and its difficulty is structural: courses are designed to be run one way, with checkpoints, hazard timing, and clone-route logic all assuming forward traversal.
The idea is not foreign to the community. A player reviewing the free web build reported doing "the left-most course backwards" for fun and noted that a later challenge to run courses backwards "would be neat" — the achievement proves the developers agreed. The same commenter found running the fifth course backwards "pretty challenging on its own merits".
Community-reported approach: complete the game normally first, so every course and every movement ability is available, then re-enter each course and run it from exit to start. Late abilities — especially the omni-dash, teleporters, and the polarity swap that handles red and blue spike colours — turn some impossible-looking reverse sections into awkward-but-fair ones. Budget patience; at 1.7%, almost everyone who tries in earnest eventually gets it, and almost nobody gets it by accident.

Definitely not lost: all secret upgrades
Definitely not lost (1.1%) requires finding every secret upgrade in the game. Its companion, Not all those who wander are lost (92.1%), shows the first pickup is nearly unavoidable — the full set is what separates the 1.1%.
Community-reported method: sweep every course edge-to-edge after the full movement toolkit is unlocked, checking high ledges, dead ends, and alcoves near hazards. Player comments on the web build describe hidden bonus upgrades scattered across the map, including one high on the far right of a course that demanded the dash wall jump — wall-jumping the instant your dash touches a wall to launch straight up. MaybeNotHex's video "IGTAP Tutorial: Every Hidden Upgrade/Easter Egg" and defaultt67's "IGTAP: all secrets" both catalogue pickups for the versions they played.
Secrets can hide behind ability gates (block polarity, in particular, controls whether certain spike colours can be passed at all), so a pickup you could not reach in hour two may be trivial in hour twenty. Nothing is missable — revisit and re-sweep. The dedicated secret upgrades page in the Hidden Content section goes deeper.

Quam Formidolosum: the ominous message
The rarest achievement in IGTAP, at 0.5%. Quam Formidolosum unlocks when you view an ominous message hidden within the Vman speedrun — the challenge sequence whose five courses carry their own achievements (Deja vu through Waow... so fast, 12.6% down to 4.7%).
The official description is all the confirmation that exists: there is a message, it is inside the Vman speedrun, and you unlock the achievement by viewing it. Community-reported approach: while running or replaying the Vman course chain, slow down and watch the environment. Content this obscure is typically placed off the racing line — a spot a speedrunner would never look — so treat a completion pass of the Vman content as a sightseeing tour rather than a time trial.
At one viewer in two hundred, this achievement rarer than escaping the facility (5.4%) and than finishing Vman course 5 (4.7%). If you find the message, you have seen something the overwhelming majority of players never will.

Quick wins and oddities
A few achievements deserve one-line mentions because players occasionally overlook them. Please Be Quiet (36.7%) is earned by turning off the music — a settings toggle, not a gameplay feat. Overdraw (66.8%) wants you to trip the breaker, a verified course mechanism. Environmental Energy (6.8%) asks you to fully grow the upgrade tree after planting it (Exponential growth, 60.9%), a late-game power sink. Jump, but again, again. (5.8%) tracks regaining the double jump after losing it — a story beat more than a challenge.
